Many sites just provide bank rates or credit union rates. We provide both. The bank rates are federally insured by the FDIC and the credit unions are federally insured by the NCUA. Credit unions often have higher CD rates than banks. We provide contact information and will soon provide basic financial information.
The one thing we are aiming to improve is how long it takes to find the interest rates, especially on bank and credit union sites. Sometimes it takes upwards of 10 clicks and many wasted minutes finding them. We aim to make it easy. Not only do we link to sites providing the highest bank rates, but our rates are always just two clicks away. Furthermore, the links we provide (whenever possible) will take you directly to the Certificate of Deposit rates on their site. If you like the rates, then worry about the account set-up details.
